Screen Cap Folder

Is there a way to make a folder where my screenshots will automatically go to when using the keyboard combos to take SS ?

right now they clutter my desktop and i have to hunt it when i take a SS,
and i use the keys at least 20 times a day for work.

If I recall correctly - this is how I did it - long ago.

defaults write com.apple.screencapture location /Full Desired Path

typed it in the terminal, didnt do anything.

no error so im a bit worried as to what it did do....

i tested it and it still goes to desktop.

command was:

defaults write com.apple.screencapture location /Users/username/Desktop/ScreenCaps

You may have to log out and back in - or killall SystemUIServer first

Yes - need to do killall SystemUIServer - this is one of those little things that I filed away with Evernote and I just checked. Source
