    OSX and legacy apps
Is there a way to run older apps in a some type of classic environment on OSX?
I'm trying to use Propellerhead Software's Rebirth RB-338 music program (which has been free from their website) on OS 10.5.8 and now 10.6.8 on a ' 07 MBP to no avail.
It's crazy that Apple won't allow some older apps to work with their newer OS'.

Any help or work arounds on this on Snow Leopard will be much appreciated. Cheers!

If that's crazy, then the entire industry is insane.

Of course, the original Classic environment is no more. All software dies eventually.

It's crazy to me because I can still run old Windows programs (Emagic Logic 5) on my Win7 bootcamp partition with no problem. I figured Apple could do the same for thier older apps.

Can you run Dos 5 apps?

Cause to be honest, that's more analogous.

I'm not trying to run "Load Runner" from 5 1/4" floppy. I'm just trying to get a 6 year old program app to work with SL.
    Thanks for the help.

That is a main reason Windows is still so messed up compared to OSX. Way much support for older Legacy apps. If Apple left all that in OSX, it would not be as nice an OS as it is today.
