I come from a linux background. I am used to using /usr/local/bin for applications
compiled on the machine or for shell scripts. I note that /usr/local/bin is in my env path, but it doesn't exist. Would there be any issues if I were to create it? thanks tim Software developer since 1987, web programmer since 1996. Linux user since 2000. 2011 mac mini, 8 Gb RAM. |

You can create it and add it to your profile path. I have many little sub directories...
MacGyver:/usr/local <username>$ ls bin clamXav include lib sbin share Or, you can use /usr/bin MacGyver:/usr dcram$ ls X11 bin include libexec local share X11R6 etc lib llvm-gcc-4.2 sbin standalone ,_____o00o _ //___l__,\____\,__ l_--- \___l---OlllllllO (o)_)-o- (o)_)--o-)_) |
