I accept full responsibility for this problem because I was the one who downloaded this nightmare of a program out of curiosity more than anything over a year ago. I played with it (Refog keylogger) a couple of times and then forgot about it.....UNTIL i realised that my MacBook seemed to be constantly running the fan. I soon opened Activity Monitor to find that the CPU was showing 80 - 130 % usage constantly by a process called "smoke" I looked at a sample process and found the word Refog in there somewhere and put two and two together. I then manually quit the process from Activity Monitor which immediately brought the CPU usage down to normal. Since that date I have been leaving my MacBook on sleep as much as possible so as not to allow "smoke" or Refoglogger to restart as it does everytime I switch of my laptop. When I do have to switch it off I manually Quit the "smoke" process through Activity Monitor

Recently I have been trying to clear some space and trying again to get rid of this annoyance. In the process I have found that the program has accumulated an immense amount of .jpg files, which are invisible in Finder, but but can be seen using programs such as ClamXav) I also downloaded DiskInventoryX which stalls when it gets to Library/.Refog and MacScan which detects nothing even if I switch off the laptop and allow the refog program to run....

Can anybody help me
1) get rid of this program
2) get rid of that mass of .jpg files in order to get some space back

any help will be much appreciated

Thank you

From the Quick Start pdf downloaded from their website:

How to Uninstall
To Uninstall Refog and a Monitoring Tool run Refog Viewer as described in «How to Launch». Then click «Monitoring > Uninstall...» menu (This menu can also be accessed by using Refog icon in application toolbar). A confirmation dialog will appear.
If you wish to completely erase collected information and screen shots then check «Delete Logs and Screen Shots» option. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
Click «Remove» button in a dialog sheet that appears. You will be prompted for a password to continue.
Your Mac will no longer be monitored. If you did not choose to erase collected information, then you can download and reinstall Refog later to view that information.
