I have a wireless network and also an ethernet connection that is faster most of the time. My ethernet cord/port are loose, so the cable sometimes isn't connected when it looks like it is plugged in. Long story short, it would be really nice to have an icon next to the AirPort icon that tells me whether I am connected to the ethernet LAN.

Windows does this; it has a small network icon for as many networks as you connect to, so you can quickly check things like the connection speed for each network. Is there some way to get AirPort to tell me the speed of my wireless connection, and also how my wired connection is doing?
QUOTE Thanks
