Has anyone put 10.6 on a new computer? I need the old OS to run some of my apps on my new machine that has Lion. I tried to back install but can't. How can I run both?

thanks.

Please use the search function next time.

You will need a retail copy of SL.
Uninstall Lion?

16GB iPhone 5, 64GB Wi-Fi only iPad 1st Gen.

thanks for the reply to post but what you noted is not what I'm requesting. I have a BRAND NEW laptop and several minis running the BRAND NEW OSX 10.7 Loin right out of the box. We purchased the last of the 10.6 minis so we had to go with some that have Lion and new hardware design.

The Lion machines need to be able to run many applications for publications, Adobe, Quark and so on. We have to all stay on the same applications.

If I can get the new machines to run 10.6 I'll be fine. So far I have not had any luck install OSX 10.6 on these machines. Anyone else out there with this problem?

Again, this is not an old machine that had 10.6 to start with.

thanks

Bottom line: You can't. The retail Snow Leopard version will not install on any of the machines that were released in 2011 as it does not have the proper drivers. That includes the new MBP, iMac, Air, and Mini. If your 2011 Mini came preinstalled with Snow Leopard and you upgraded to Lion, you can downgrade back to Snow Leopard. However, any machine that came preinstalled with Lion, you're pretty much stuck with running Lion.
