So I changed my password a while ago to stop my Beautiful wife from adding stupid applications to my mac when I wasn't looking. Now I have forgotten what I changed it to. I tried using the install disc but it gives me the message that I don't have permission to change the password or a major error has occured. Any help would be appreciated.

Try this procedure. It doesn't require the use of your recovery DVD and usually works when booting from the DVD won't.
