There is a picture on my hard drive, and I can find it by using Spotlight. What I can't seem to do is to determine its location. I click on the file name and it opens in Preview, but I can't find anywhere the option for "show in finder", or anything that will tell me where the picture is stored.
I want to edit it in Lightroom but I don't know where it is.
There's gotta be a way to determine the location, right?
Thanks,
Gary

Have you tried looking in your iPhoto library?

I just looked in iPhoto, and it's not there; I don't use iPhoto. What I want to know is, how do I get that "show in finder" option that I see in other OS X applications.

For now when it opens in Preview, why not save it to your desktop, with a different name so you can work on it now while you try to find the other. Then right click open with Lightroom

Or dl either Alfred or Quicksilver and when their spotlight type window pops up it shows the path of what you have searched for. I recently bought the PowerPack for Alfred. The best App i have on my Mac helping me ATM

Cheers

Thanks for the suggestion - I tried this and only had the option to "save a version" which doesn't give me the option of setting the destination, unless I'm missing something...

Try exporting it as a jpeg.

Of course, I know everything . . . I just can't remember it all at once.

From your spotlight search you can hold down command or option I think.. and it will open the file within finder. I forget which key it is...>_>"
