Basically I can't boot into my mac.
What happened was I was planning on installing a linux operating system called backtrack 5. So I partitioned 5 gb of free space on my mac, inserted the linux cd and booted from the cd. Then I went to install backtrack under the linux operating system. I had three options 1. Install using the entire harddrive (which would have wiped all my info)\ 2. Install using available freespace, or 3. Advanced options (specify the partition) So I chose 2, available freespace and began the install. Apparently it wasn't enough free space because the installer stopped at 99%. I then attempted to boot back into mac but the only option available on the startup manager was "windows" (This makes sense because for whatever reason the cd was titled windows) However, When I inserted my mac install dvd or the linux cd, I can see I still have macintosh available with all my info still there, but in addition to that I have a few other partitions the linux cd must have created. I can't delete these partitions because everytime I go into the partitions magager with my mac osx disk, disk utilities crashes. Any alternitives anyone can think of to either delete these other partitions, or force it to boot to macintosh? |
