I'm tying to figure out the best way to delete all of my information and files on my 2010 MacBook Air, but I want to keep the OS, in this case Lion, on the computer. So, how do I do that? Just delete everything individually and then do a secure delete or a delete that writes over it several times...

I'm going to give my computer to someone else, and I want to be sure I don't pass along any other personal information. So, the person would get an computer almost to its original state, in terms of software and information, but it would still run Lion 10.7.

Thanks

Create a new account. Log out of the old account. Log into the new account. Delete the old account. Use the 'Secure Empty Trash' function from the Finder menu.

Then, follow this thread to prep the computer for the next person:

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

Also, moved your thread from our "off topic" forum, since we do have a forum specific to OS X - Operating System discussion.
