Once you've downloaded it, right click to show package contents of Lion Installer and then find InstallESD.dmg - move it to iMac. voila

Hmm. Oh, you already installed Lion, so you can't extract the dmg. Once you run the installer, it deletes that package. You'll need to download it again. If you want to make a physical disc and/or have more macs beyond the one more you want to install it on, before you install it on the iMac, extract the InstallESD.dmg like I told you above and burn it to a DVD-R.

I just tried looking around for you, dcollens, but I can't find a way to do it, either. You could try contacting apple, or installing 10.6 and then trying to redownload it again

Log on your mother's iMac, go to the App store, sign in with your Apple ID and then download Lion direct to your mother's iMac. Let's see if that works for you.

I just came across this tip from another board.

"I finally figured it out. You need to quit the App Store, reopen it, and without doing anything else, hold the option key and click Purchases. Lion should then be downloadable again for free."

iPod 5th Gen
iPod Touch 4g

I did exactly the same, installed Lion then started looking for the dmg and couldn't find it.

What a really great tip on how to re download.

Well pleased

FYI, I copied the installer to a USB drive and ran it on my wife's computer last night. The installer was not deleted from the USB drive. In theory, you should be able to take it from computer to computer and install.
