I have installed new hardware on my macbook pro. and now i need to install mac osx again. First step is that i need to select a language. This is dutch in my case. mut then after a several minutes there is an error that say that it's not possible to instal mac osx on this mac. I installed an other hd an trieyed it again but it shows the same message.

Does that gray disc mention any specific Mac models iMac, Mac pro, etc.)?

Unless that system disc came with the computer when new, it will not install as they are extremely model specific.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
