Is there any reason not to keep Parallels open and at the ready rather then open it each time to get at a certain windows program?

At work I have to get to our "Company System" quite frequently during the day. Is there any harm in just keeping Parallels open and at the ready. It's kind of a hassle opening it each time I need it. Seems to me that it would be less detrimental on the system just keeping it open. (Less chance for error if you will.)

Regards,

Pat

There's no physical harm but having it open means that the RAM you allocated it will always be in use. For instance, if you allocated 2GB of RAM to a VM and you keep the VM open, that 2GB will always be in use by the VM.

If you have no problems having it open and you need it regularly, just keep it open.

Just make sure the machine is well ventilated (as it always should be). I find VMs tend to generate quite a bit of heat (which isn't all that surprising when you think about it).
