Need Expert Help Home Directory / Boot

Hi,

I currently cannot boot into my mbp as bootup is not finding my Home directory (my Home directory was on second HDD that failed, so now I only have 1 HDD instead of 2)

My question: does anyone know where the Home directory string/pointer is stored and if so can I use Terminal to change where bootup is looking for my Home directory?

Please help!!!!

Thanks in advance

How are you getting into Terminal now? Via another admin user whose Home directory is on that drive? If so, just make the change via the Accounts preference pane. Unlock at the bottom, right-click on user name, then hit Advanced, then do the obvious.

Here's an article detailing the Terminal commands for moving the Home folder.
