    Software update can't find the latest Java
    I apologize if this is in the wrong section. I'm trying to get the latest java on my macbook, except when I run software update it tells me that everything is up to date. Please help. Its a Mac OSX version 10.5.8

    Java is updated by Apple, not Sun/Oracle, so you may not get the exact version you expect.
    About Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 9

    Notice it says:
    This release of J2SE 5.0 supports all Intel and PowerPC-based Macs. Java SE 6 is available on 64-bit Intel-based Macs only.
