Looking to upgrade to os 10.7, does anyone know:

1. Are there new drivers for Epson printers? Mine for Epson 3800 are PowerPC
2. Any drivers for my Canon scan software MPNavigator 2.2 (also PowerPC).

Are there any 3rd party substitute programs for either of these?
I am unable to get info on the internet.

Mike S.

Sorry but I am afraid no one will be able to answer your question till Lion is released and in our hands to mess with. Al,l I can suggest fir now is read the Lion page on apple and see if they mention printers and scanners. Pretty sure they do not.

I wish I could offer more help but for now I and others, here know nothing about 10.7 till it's rereleased.

There are SL print drivers from Epson which indicates that there are Intel ones. Check this page for more info. I'd point you to it but there are a few "3800" printers and I don't know which one you have. As for the Canon scanner, they likely have Intel drivers. My Canon all-in-one works like a champ here and I'm using SL.

Given that, you can note that both make Intel drivers. Regardless, you'll have to wait until July when Lion comes out before any of us know what hardware is supported (as dtravis7 noted).

Who knows, some of the SL drivers might work in Lion also. Time will tell. At least there are intel drivers available!

Chec back with us after 14 July and Dennis that is one ugly, mean looking moggy my lad!

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
