Strange @ symbol icon at bottom of screen
    Hi,

Just noticed a strange @ symbol (icon) at the bottom right of my imac, partially hidden.

Can anyone tell me what this is, and is it a security risk/issue?

When I right click on it i get the normal pop-up menu ["Open", "Open With", "Move to trash" .... also has Clean up Selection.]

"Quick Look" menu option has "The Best Deal of th...--------.webloc" displayed.

When I click on "Get Info" the Kind = Web Internet Location
and Name & Extension displays "The Best Deal of the Day ------.webloc"

    Thanks

Is the @ symbol on top of a Spring like thing?

@ symbol on top of HTTP
The @ symbol appears to be on top of 'HTTP"

I can now drag it around the desktop, whereas previously dragging it just made it spring back to the bottom right corner,

actually it does so when another window is open (as it should) unless it is a web browser. Dragging it to the browser opens a gizmodo page entitled The Best Deal of the Day. Not sure how the icon appeared on the bottom of the screen though.

That's a web shortcut. If you double click it, it will open your default browser to whatever page it's a shortcut to.

Thanks for the reply. Also dragging it onto the browser opens it.
