I launched photoshop today and found my option key not working. I don't use it often, but it's integral for defining clone area and spot correction. I'm totally screwed without it.

I reinstalled my wacom. I ran all software updates. I plugged in an external keyboard and the option key was not working on it either. What could be wrong? Everything else is operating fine.

Thank you so much.

Gone into preferences and removed the .plist file?

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
