I run OS 10.6.7, and wondered if anyone was familiar with a type of DVD disc known as DVD-RAM, and will it read or write, or both with my system, or any Mac system? I am considering copying all of my old family movies from VHS to DVD (on a separate machine designed for such) and would like to make sure when I'm done the contents of the DVD disc will play on my Mac.
Thanks for helping!

Depends on your superdrive. One such as this would do the trick:-
Newegg.com - PLEXTOR Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 22X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 22X DVD Super Multi Burner
Cannot get my Pioneer superdrive in Mac Pro to run Pioneer DVD-RAM discs burnt on a Pioneer DVD recorder.Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
