new to macs java issue

hi
ive just bought my first apple mac
it was a bargain and i like it but ive just tryed to go in a java chat room i use
and its not working
i have tried to look into it but there seems to be so many java issues
if anyone can help i would appreciate it
its running os x 10.4.11

Have you ran Software Update from the Apple Menu? 10.4.11 is OSX Tiger and a bit dated now but should work with what you are after.

its all up to date just doesnt seem to like java if i cant work this out i will go back to windows not had the mac for 24 hours yet lol

Like I said 10.4 is a bit old. CAn you give me an example of a java site that is giving you issues? I ahve an older Mac here with 10.4.11 on it. I can try and see.

site is UK Chatterbox Chat Rooms - Free England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales Chat and Forum the chat wont work
