I am running 10.6.6 and all of sudden my when I click a folder it takes about 3 or 4 seconds to display the folders contents. This use to happen almost instantaneously before. I can not figure out how to correct this. Please help.

It might be worth deleting and rebuilding the various caches in the system. You can use Onyx to do this. Be aware that the first time you reboot after killing the cache, some tasks will seem slower as the system rebuilds it.

Standing request for all troubleshooting: Please provide your Mac model/year and OS version. Also advise us if you have used or installed any antivirus, security, or "cleaning" software on your Mac. If you have installed MacKeeper in particular, you are hereby advised to uninstall it.

If all else fails to fix your problem, read this tip.
