Screen Cap is Static?

whenever i take a screen cap recently the image comes out looking like this...


not sure if there is just a setting wrong or if i need to take it in to get it checked out. any thoughts?

You didn't provide us with any information regarding your Mac or which version of OS X you're using. However, if that's a screen capture it may indicate a problem with your graphics adapter. If your machine is still covered by the Apple warranty or Apple care, take it on in and let Apple look at it.

i have a macbook pro OSX version 10.5.7 running

the warranty expired a bit ago and i didn't extend apple care

What MBP is it?

If this is one with the nVidia 8600, Apple has extended the warranty to 4 years on that video card.
