In a word no, Illustrator 8.0 is for the Classic Mac OS (pre Mac OS 10.x.x).
The oldest Illustrator version you can run is Illustrator CS2 using Rosetta. But is very likely that it will be very prone to problems due to it's age. Mac OS X 10.6 Help: If you need to install Rosetta Adobe on the other hand does not support anything older than Illustrator CS4 on Mac OS 10.6.x because of hardware changes in Intel Macs that make older software problem prone. ~Alex Use the reputation system if a post helps you!
