Hey guys,
quick question: i'm installing a new 500 gb Wester Digital on my brothers Macbook. I'm running into trouble installing the OS. it keeps on saying "you cannot install mac OS X on this volume. i'm not sure if it's a formatting issue or what, i've tried it as what the HDD was before formatting (which worked for my brothers Macbook and my old iBook), i've tried OS X extended, OS X extended (journaled), i'm not sure what i'm missing! or could it be that these disks are wrong for the laptop (i was pretty sure they're the same year and specs). Thanks Installing 10.5 on a Macbook 2007 1GB RAM 13" screen Speed unknown |

That is the message you get when you are using the wrong discs.
Either find his original discs, contact Apple to send you out a set of replacement discs, or purchase Snow Leopard Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.) |

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer! |
