Hi,
I have recently purchased Office 2011 for Mac. Upon trying to install it an error message appeared saying that in order to install the application, I needed to update to v. 10.5.8 . I downloaded this update from the internet. However, when I come to install it, I get to the 'Destination Select' screen and when I select Macintosh HD it says "You cannot install Mac OS X Update on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update." The issue cannot be space as I have 80gb+ free space on that volume. Why isn't it letting me install? Is there anything I can do to rectify the issue? Thanks in advance! (I am running a late 2006 imac) |

And I would "assume" you are still using Tiger 10.4... yes????
You will need to purchase Leopard or Snow Leopard to upgrade from 10.4. I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth. In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus. |

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer! |
