Every file on my desktop has the the first 3 letters and the last 3 letters with "..." in the middle. Is there any way to change it so the whole title or the first couple words cuz this is not working for identifying files.

Finder>View>Show View Options

From there you can change icon size and what is shown.

I think it's not so much the icon size affecting that as it is the grid spacing.

thanks for the response. Change the grind does kind of help but it makes the icons quite larger. Im looking more to keep them the same size and just change the file name layout. A friend of mine has the same laptop and his shows the entire title just fine with normal size icons.

In the same view options tab try changing the text size. I have mine set at 12pt, and you can read everything under the folders on my desktop.

Changing the grid spacing makes your icons larger? I don't think mine do that (OS 10.5.8). I'll have to look at that.
