    OSX error messages corrupted.
On this Mac every error message for any application displays like those in the two pictures. Any suggestions? Finding good information while googling 'corrupt error message' is hard.

Mac OS X v10.6 "Snow Leopard"
I'm not sure what other information would be useful.

It was probably hard to find info because that's the first time I've seen such a thing!!!

The first thing to try when you suspect something is corrupt is to repair the hard drive while booted from some other drive - your install DVD is designed to be used for this:
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck
(go down to the part Try Disk Utility)

    Let us know the result.

Ya, that's good idea, too. A Safe Boot also clears font caches (see my link above).
