Mac Specs: Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)

After the panic I ran the extended AHT, which came up with nothing (of coarse).
I had Safari running with a few windows open when it happened, and yahoo messenger and skype running in the background as I always do.

As always, any explanation in layman's terms would be greatly appreciated.

Some Safari plugin.
My first guess would be flash caused this one since you've got all the video drivers listed there.
Second would be Silverlight, although, I've not really seen much of any issues with it.
Not seeing any 3rd party plugins in the second list, except:
Doubt this one would be caused by the Remote Buddy you're using - ???

I'd probably try a permissions repair and see if that helps - doubt it, but you never know.
Make sure you've got the latest version of flash or reinstall it if you do.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.

Silverlight? Never used it, and all I know is that it is installed as part of my Microsoft package, and now your question of the plugin made me check to see if it's there as an internet plugin and it is.
What does it do and is it ok to get rid of it?

Remote buddy? I have Candelair installed (pref pane) which stops the remote from unpairing itself.
I don't have Remote buddy installed, but it is from Remote Buddy - customize your Apple® Remote Control, add or retrofit a remote, control 100+ apps // IOSPIRIT [EN] which is where Candelair is from.
Do you think this could be the culprit?

This issue:
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010) and MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2010): Apple Remote does not respond

This is the candelair link:
Candelair - alternative driver for internal Apple® IR receivers // IOSPIRIT [EN]

I just downloaded Safari again to cover that angle.
Also, just downloaded the 10.6.5 combo to cover that end too.

Sheesh, my response is making my brain pulsate. lol

I understand that flash could/does cause overheating/high CPU usage, but as far as a kernel panic rather than a shut down?

The WebKitPluginHost indicates it was a browser plugin.
Suggesting flash and Silverlight only because it's listing the video drivers above it that had the problem.
Don't think the iospirit driver had anything to do with it.

I had Silverlight installed with a default install of Snow Leopard.
About the only thing that uses it that I've run into is Netflix.
Really don't think that's it, and probably wouldn't spend the time there, but it's not going to hurt anything to get rid of it. For it to have caused the crash, something would have had to call the plugin.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.

No Netflix here in Oz, so I'll say goodbye to it

So close to the end of me tether with this MBP... it's the 4th one (3rd replacement).
Never having any problems with my late 07 MB.
1st MBP DOA.
2nd one had battery and backlight issues.
3rd one had remote unpairing issues and a kernel panic.
This one, the same remote unpairing issues (Apple deciding this is ok and gave their poor excuse of a fix as I linked above) as well as battery after 2 months at 95% capacity, kernel panic, and the occasional one finger trackpad dragging on windows when it's not set to, as well as hot corner not working sometimes to show all windows unless I click on the window I'm on.
Feeling very frustrated as you can imagine I'm sure!
Sorry about the rant, and it's not directed at you, rather than explaining where I'm at.

Hmmm, time for me to lighten it up with something like
....Have you ever had a fly or small bug land on your computer screen and your first reaction is to try and scare it with the cursor?

As a tip, if it is indeed caused by something like Flash, you may want to run Flash heavy websites in Chrome or Firefox where you get some protection against Flash (Firefox) or problematic tabs (Chrome). Something to consider - it may or may not protect against KPs but it's worth a shot.

In Safari, go to Help > Installed Plug-Ins. This will list all of the plugins that Safari has access to when it runs. If you can find any in that list that you don't need for sure, get rid of them. That's one place to start as well.

This is where I like Chrome - the plugin manager allows you to disable plugins as opposed to deleting them/removing them (I'm not trying to get you to convert if it comes across that way). This may be a quicker way of checking to see what the problematic plugin is but I'll leave the choice up to you.
