In Windows, there is a taskbar icon that one clicks to minimize all windows and show the desktop. Is there a way to do this on a Mac?Don't believe anything I tell you, unless it is consistent with what you already know to be true, or unless you have taken the time to research the matter to prove its accuracy to your satisfaction. This is known as "doing your homework."

There's command+option+m This will minimize all windows into the dock.

Depending on what Mac you have, a 4 finger swipe UP will show the Desktop. You can do this slowly and hold your fingers on the trackpad if you don't want to stay on the Desktop. You can do it quickly and remove your fingers from the trackpad to "permanently" show the Desktop, then 4 finger swipe DOWN to go back to whatever app(s) you had open.
Even if you don't have a MB or MBP, you can use Apple's magic trackpad to do that. (and there's lots more finger gestures)64GB iPhone 6, 64GB iPad Air 2.
Reminder: Please include your Mac's specs. This will make it much easier for the other members to assist you.

4-finger up swipe works like a charm. Thanks!Don't believe anything I tell you, unless it is consistent with what you already know to be true, or unless you have taken the time to research the matter to prove its accuracy to your satisfaction. This is known as "doing your homework."
