The first installation disc is jammed in the disc drive. have recently bought a macbook through a newspaper add and need to reinstall osx because the old owner didnt know the password and sold it on behalf of his mothers estate. i am wondering if i can get away with just installing disc one and get away with just that as i only use it for internet exploring and itunes. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Phil

Restart the computer and hold down the mouse while doing so. This will eject the disc.
You will need to install both discs.

Force Eject a Stuck CD or DVD - Mac Guides

check that out, if you go into terminal you can use commands that sometimes are corrupted elsewhere or somehow.

its worth a try. terminal commands have saved me numerous times in the past.
