Running C program on OSX

Hello All,

I recently switched from Windows to Mac and bought a new MacBook Pro yesterday. I am getting used to it and I feel good about Mac now.

Now my question - I am a student and use programming a lot to do my engineering projects at university. I want to learn how does one write,run and compile C program on Mac OSX.Are there any particular application required that I need to download to run C programs on my MacBook Pro.

A step by step guide will be very useful.....

Mac Specs: 2012 13" MBP (2.5 i5, 8GB)

You need to install the Xcode development tools. Take a look at this for installation instructions. The tools are available on your OS X install discs and through Apple's developer site (this will likely be a newer version than what is on your OS X install disc).
