Hey everyone!

I'm new around here so i dont know if this is the right place to ask.

This is my problem:

I used to be abble to play AVI files with no problems!

I have QT with Perian on the side.

But today all of the suden, it stopped playing AVI files... Just like that.

The same files that yesterday were playing.

I downloaded VLC Player and it works... but i want for it to work on QT.

I haven't install anything new on the Mac. Can you help me?

I use:

Macbook 2009
Mac OS X
10.6.3

Cheers,

Joao.

Welcome aboard Mac-Forums!

Repair Permissions, preferably using OnyX Titanium's Software • Download for OS 10.6.

OnyX is the best OS maintenance utility for Mac OS X. It will repair the method by which an item like a .avi file gets access to the application that will open it. OnyX also removes the dross that builds up with repeated use of applications/files. Using OnyX is like doing routine maintenance on a motor car, or cleaning the house.

You don't have to use OnyX. You can boot from your Install disk 1, and repair permissions using Disk Utility. It will tidy up the OS, just not as effectively as OnyX.
