Web address not automatically complete with server info on company intranet

When I'm on my company's intranet on my MacBook Pro, for the majority of pages within, the web address needs to read something along the lines of <http://home.server.com/SecondaryPageName> in order for the page to load. However, what actually loads is <http://home/SecondaryPageName>. Every time I manually have to enter ".server.com" since it isn't added automatically.
Has anyone else had this issue or have any suggestions on how I can get the server address to automatically be added?
Thanks, and please let me know if you need more info or clarification.
