helpi have a mac that was given to me, it will not let me add anything or update it says i have to have a dvd or password. it came out of my brothers daycare and i have neither. anything that i can do to be able to up date and add a printer. thanks

You're gonna need an admin password. Here's instructions on how to reset the OS and put in your own.
#1. Reboot
#2. Hold apple + s down after you hear the chime.
#3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):
* mount -uw /
* rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
* shutdown -h now
After you will get the intro Movie, and prompts to set up a new admin account. After, you can delete the old admin account. (Don't forget your password for your new account!)

it a 2.4 core 2 and the other did not work or i could not get it to work. the lady that set up the computer is no longer working with us . can i buy a set up disk some where on line. thanks mark
