My 150 G hard drive is full. I have a 160 g La Cie external. What files are a must to keep on the 150 G? There is a folder called"Receipts" I see there are a lot of .pkg files, can they be deleted? I am really trying to free up some space.

just put your videos and picture files on the external hd.... keep all system files and such on the 150gb hd. If you have a large music librarry copy those over too, and change where itunes looks for the songs.

Do not remove any files in the receipts folder. If you do you will have problem loading software on your system. The best thing to do is back up your data and remove any of your data you don't use.

The receipts folder is used by the system to keep track of what software that is loaded on your system. It also keep track of what version of the software that is loaded.

rman is correct I forgot to mention that in my post, do not remove any of the receipts it is very important that you keep those files.
