I downloaded drive genius 3.0 recently.
It came in the form of a dmg.
One of the features of the program is to boot up from the dvd to access the defrag feature. I can burn the actual file onto a dvd, I can burn the dmg onto a dvd, I can burn the contents of the main file onto a dvd but when I insert the dvd into the reader, I restart the macbook pro and hold down the "c" key it completely bypasses the dvd and goes straight to leopard without launching drive genius.
My question is: is there a way that I can make my own dvd (for booting up purposes) off of the dmg file?

thanks

Declan~

The reason it came as a DMG is precisely so that you can make a bootable CD or DVD.

If you're having trouble doing that, I'd consult with the company on that issue. As a paying customer, you should get their support.

And since you own it already, if you're having trouble creating the boot DVD, you can download one from their site for $5.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.

I posted the question to get a solution.
I know I can go to the company and get the disk from them but that's not what I wanted to know.
If you don't know how to do what I'm asking why not simply bypass the question and not answer, rather than answer the question with a solution that doesn't help.

example: if I didn't know how to turn on my computer, and I posted that question here, would you tell me to contact the manufacturer or simply tell me to push the power button?

Simply telling me to push the power button IS the answer. Telling me otherwise is a waste of my time.

the question if very simple. if there is anyone in this board that knows the answer, please let me know. otherwise I'll try another board and get someone that actually knows.

thanks
