changing printer settings

I'm trying to change my printer settings w/o having to do it at the time of printing a specific document. Can someone tell me how to do this?

I'm using Snow Leopard and an HP C4480 printer.

System Preferences -> Print & Fax. Highlight your printer in the left column. Now click on the tab which says "Options & Supplies". Another dialog will open with option tabs to choose from. Note however, it all depends on the printer software that you installed and the printer driver as to which options will be available.
