Hi.

I'm using a MacBook Pro, Version 10.6.

When I reply to an email in Mail 4.0, it shows the quoted text with a blue bar. Not in all messages it seems, but in emails that come from another MAC. Is there any way at all I can shut this off? No blue bar anywhere at any time? There seems to be nothing in preferences (in color and fonts I can only change the color text, in Composing only if I want to quote or not), but it's really bothering me.

The other issue is that (as of recently it seems) when someone emails me and includes a word like "tomorrow", Mail displays that with a little arrow where I could put this in i Cal (which I do not use, neither do I use/ want notes et. al.) I find this extremely annoying, especially in messages where there are many scheduling questions involved.

Also, links are blue. I just want them black and w/o underline. How can I change this?

I'd really just like to get rid of both of those "features", and have my emails in plain and simple text, w/o bars and color and arrows.

I'm sorry. (: I work a lot with Mail, and just would like to use it the way I want.

Please let me know if anyone knows the trick. I tried now for almost the night.

Welcome to the Forum. You can remove lines from outgoing Apple Mail by File/Select All then use key combo Command/Shift/apostrophe - once for each line. That is the only step i know.

When you reply to an email and it shows the quoted text with a blue bar... You can change this behaviour in preferences. Click on Composing. Uncheck "increase quote level".

If you don't want it to quote at all, uncheck "quote the text of the original message".
