My iBook G4 which is about 4 years old suddenly gives me a screen overlay that says in about 5 different languages that my os is not working and needs to be shut down and re-started.
Since the keys do not respond i have to force a shutdown by pressing and holding the power button.
Any ideas????
Thanks

All G4 iBooks are a minimum of five years now. For starters pop in your original system discs and run Apple Hardware Test from disc one, no doubt you have the original disc? Hardware Test checks out logic board, memory, drives etc.

If not, boot from your current install disc and run Repair Disk for starters as the hard drikve may be failing.
