Code:
mv <source> <dir>
So, in your case:
Code:
mv ~/Desktop/extras2.rsrc <dir>
and
Code:
mv ~/Desktop/SArtfile.bin <dir>
Replace <dir> with where they are supposed to go.

well for the last 3 days my time has been spent trying to rectify this problem.
Cant believe nobody in this forum could help fix this...does make me wonder whether this community is worth posting anything.

anyway...to all the hundreds of ppl who have this problem heres the fix.

boot into single-user mode {apple Skey}

once in root type this command: fsck -fy
u should get a message FILESYSTEM HAS BEEN MODIFIED
now it is writable :0)

now mount the disk with this command: mount -uw /

You can now make as many changes as u like...my problem was i needed to get the Extras2.rsrc and SArtfile.bin Back to their original directories which u can now do.

oh dont forget to empty the trashcan if u still have the deleted Extras2.rsrc and SArtfile.bin in it...to do this cd to .trash and rm the files...easy peasy

well thanx everyone for ur help lmao not!!!!

They gave you help, tard. Also, much easier would have been to just pop in your OS disc and archive and install :-P Also would have taken 20 minutes, not 3 days.

You also could have just sudo'd in, no need to run fsck -y

Why would you quote my solution and then say that no one helped? Do you not see the flaw here?

Some people are idiots, van. Especially people who can waste their time complaining that nobody helped them rather than googling the one step he needed (sudo in to modify before your command, or what he ended up doing). Of course, like I did when I f'd up my customization (rather than complaining incessantly), the 30 minute archive and install option sure beats 3 days. Or ****, boot from the OS disc and restore from time machine backup. But I bet in all of his immense intelligence, he didn't have any nonlocal backup when f'ing with the system files. Who better to blame than us?
