OSX 10.6.3, Black Lines Glitching Please Help!

Hi my macbook has started to act up a lil today nothing huge but annoying still all of a sudden some windows have black lines to the right and left of them and im not sure why, I've attached a screen shot to show, any suggestions anyone??

i should have tried this first but i restarted my computer after logging it out and shutting it down and now it works fine, weird??? anyone know why this was happening to me though? i have had my macbook for 2+ years and besides one hard drive dying on me this is the first glitchy behavour ive seen since i switched to mac from pc

Mac Specs: Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)

6string is offline
Hopefully it won't happen again, and if it does, not too frequently at least.
It could be a problem with the graphics chip.
I would run the Apple Hardware test from the install disc to see if anything comes up.
