Saw this on a couple screencasts, and here's a screenshot. How do I get that steel brush look on the top of my windows, where the red/yellow/green buttons reside?

Not sure if maybe it's just a tiger thing. Im running snow leopard.

Just realized it's actually a tiger skin for windows. Hmm. Here's a better, more reliable image:

Both of those came up from doing a search on os x tiger, so not sure if it's perhaps just the default look in that.

not quite sure what you're asking. you have snow leopard now, and you want the steel brushed look on your windows? you should already have that steel brushed look. if you want your windows to look like they did when you ran tiger...well as far as i know there is no way to change that. i looked all through the system preferences and couldn't find anything

Ya if you are running snow leopard, look up at the top of your window and your bar will already be grey. Magic.

It's just the default look for tiger. Apple ran with that look from at least 10.0 to 10.4 (maybe earlier?) and changed it to the smooth metallic look it has today in 10.5 leopard/snow leopard.

No way of getting it back unless you install tiger or find a skin or something. Was really glad to see that look go, but after not using tiger for awhile, kind of fond of that look again.
