Are you upgrading from 10.6.2? I'm still trying to figure out why some people who supposedly had 10.6.2 are getting a version of 10.6.3 that is approx. 300 MB larger.

On the Apple site it's 719.23 MB for the standalone and 784 MB for the combo.... Big mommas indeed

I think it mentioned an ATI upgrade also so if you had an iMac I believe the file would be
larger.

What exactly is the difference between a regular and a combo update?

"No. No, Mother, I have not been drinking. No. No. These two men, they poured a whole bottle of bourbon into me. No, they didn't give me a chaser."

The combo update is a combination of anything 10.6.x leading upto the combo update and anything that you may have missed.
I believe that the structure is less fragmented, and this is why it seems to often be a fix for minor glitches in many cases.
Whenever a combo update comes out, I install it.... even if I am on 10.6.3 already, I still go ahead and install the 10.6.3 combo update.

300 MB larger? Seems excessive to me for GPU drivers.

Having downloaded and installed the update, now both Mail and iChat present in a funky way.
Mail: The headers do not contain any graphic formatting and the line spacing is out of whack, very large.
iChat: The Balloons are huge and again, the line spacing is huge.
I suspect both problem have the same origin.
Anyone else having these issues? Anyone have a solution?
QUOTE Thanks
