You dont tell us what Mac you have and what OS you are running ??
But by the sounds you have some corrupt files, which are playing havoc and killing the start up. But 1st if you have the install disk's is to boot up with that and hold down the 'c' key when booting. And from the installer window click Disk Utility and you then need to Run Repair Permissions .. Post back with as much info as you can as well, because this gives everyone a better chance of helping you with your problem... Cheers Dont forget to use the Reputation System if someone has helped you out !!! “I have absolutely no pleasure in the stimulants in which I sometimes so madly indulge. It has not been in the pursuit of pleasure that I have periled life and reputation and reason. It has been the desperate attempt to escape from torturing memories, from a sense of insupportable loneliness and a dread of some strange impending doom ….”― Edgar Allan Poe |
