Hello all,

I have a macbook pro. I keep getting Kernel Panics. It seems to happen on youtube or when I'm watching a video on a website. 99.999% of the time the kernel panic happens on youtube. The other day I printed something and when it was done printing, I got a kernel panic. When I restarted my laptop I got another Kernel Panic immediately.

I hope nothing is too wrong. This cannot be good!

I do not know a lot about computers. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I would greatly appreciate any information anyone may have for me. Thank you for your time.

No I have not installed any new ram in it recently. I should also mention that the computer is about 4 years old. I bought it in 2006.

Do you have any idea what sort of temperatures your MBP is running when watching You Tube videos?

If not...try downloading & installing Temperature Monitor:

Temperature Monitor

...and let us know what you get. You should probably do exactly what you normally do on You-Tube to get some good readings. If you normally watch You-Tube for a long time...then that's what you should for a good test.

Keep your eye on the temps...just in case you suddenly get a kernel panic.

Good luck,

- Nick

As Groucho Marx once said, "stop doing that."

Kernel panics are not supposed to be happening, and repeatedly re-invoking them isn't doing your machine any good.

It sounds to me like you need to update your Flash player, or use YouTube's HTML5 beta to take the load off.
