for quite a while now. If I install it, is it going to help me or hinder me? Does it slow the internet or is that resolved now? Are all systems go with OS X6?

We wouldn't have a clue as we have no idea what all software you have installed that still may not be compatible with SL.

I do not have any of the 100 or so 3rd party apps I use that do not work with SL, but only you know what you have installed. You can start checking here.

It has never "slowed" the internet that I am aware of.

Don't have a clue what you're referring to. There was never any issue on any of my Macs.

It's all good on both my '06 and '07 machines.
You need to verify any of your "can't live without" apps work in SL.

I would suggest creating a bootable backup of Leopard with SuperDuper! Make sure it works and then install Snow Leopard. If you don't like, don't want, boot to the backup and restore your machine back to Leopard.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.

BTW...it's considered bad forum etiquette to start your post in the title of your posting...and then continue it in the body of the post.

If you read the quote of your post...you can see how it doesn't make sense...since there is no mention of the subject (Snow Leopard install disk in this case).

Do take a note of this first:

Prepping for Snow Leopard, things to do while you wait...

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
