Missing Security Button

The security button in System Preferences is missing on my Macbook Pro (running OSX 10.5.8). Any ideas where I could find it? The laptop was issued to me by work but they don't seem to know why it's missing and are unwilling to help since I'm in a remote location. Any ideas? I'd like to be able to password protect my screensaver/sleep mode is all.
