I like having the ability to put widgets in the main work area, but it sort of bugs me how they always stay on top of whatever application I have open. Is there a way I can "sink" them so they appear on the desktop, but can be covered by windows.

Just a stupid kid with a computer, so take my advice with a grain of salt if that makes a difference to you.

I have looked into this and throughout the web and i cant seem to find anything, including a 3rd party App to let us do so.
It is great that we can take them from within the widgets but to have them on the desktop would be supercool.

What particular widget are you looking @ wanting on the desktop ??

There are certain things you can do with GeekTool to allow to have a live desktop.

Weather, time, system stats and the list goes on.
Might be something to look into ??

Cheers

It has been the desperate attempt to escape from torturing memories, from a sense of insupportable loneliness and a dread of some strange impending doom ….”― Edgar Allan Poe
