Hi Guys, my (bless him) little brother restarted my MacBook whilst installing a software update, all i get now when I turn on is a kernel panic with the following message:

Copied that out, took ages, i read its the bit ablout the backtrace thats important, the other snag is that my CD drive is broken so can't use install disk.

any ideas would be massively appreciated, I'm a DJ and have all my music on it for NYE!

Cheers

Alex

I have the same issue going on right now with my system. I simply did a software update, and the computer never rebooted.

I called Applecare, and they say this is a common issue when Operating system files not properly installed.

Mac reccomends to attempt to start your computer in safe mode, or to boot with your boot disk and run disk utility to repair the disk.

Neither of these worked for me, but please let me know if you find a solution
QUOTE Thanks
