Upgrading Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard upgrade disk from imac

I bought a 27inch imac which also comes with an upgrade disk (snow leopard), is it possible to use the disk to upgrade a macbook pro (leopard) to snow leopard??, thanks for the help

You can upgrade Imac to SL, get all the updates for your applications to use with SL, use the upgraded iMac to target disk to the other MBP and install the updated SL as a clone.

I believe as long as you have OS 10.5 on it you can.
